CATHEDRAL WALK
After Gruver Cooley remodeled the kitchen on this Washington, D.C. home near the National Cathedral, it was time to update a tired master bath. The "before" bath had ill-functioning features, too many mirrors and too little space. Working in conjunction with Interior Designer Sydnye Pettengil, ASID, of Alexandria, Gruver Cooley created a luxurious master bathroom with a more transitional style that was compatible with the traditional elements of the house. A new walk-in shower with a linear drain was added, and space was reorganized to provide for storage. The up-to-date fixtures include a Toto washlet toilet/bidet combination and a Barclay cast iron free-standing tub. Finally, Hansgrohe faucet and shower fixtures were used to create a very sleek European style. The overall result is a well-designed, beautiful and functional space which is serene and welcoming.
