OUTDOOR OASIS

Inspired by a love of swimming, diving and traveling, our client wanted an oasis to share with family and friends.  The series of pools is a perfect setting to entertain guests while they enjoy food and water activities.  From above, the structure blends harmoniously with its surroundings, mixing regional stones and boulders.  The pools provide venues for a number of water sports, from traditional lap swimming to volleyball to cliff diving.  An underwater entrance through a hidden tunnel leads to a waterfall and a grotto tucked behind a boulder façade.  Finally, a strategically positioned spa allows for relaxing and enjoying the setting.

This unique project posed structural challenges for the concrete pool house, free formed grotto and 100,000 gallon interconnected pools. Shade for the gourmet outdoor cooking facilities and changing rooms is provided by the lead-coated copper curved roof.  Peacock paving stones are cool to the feet and perfect for pool side fun.  Hardi Plank board and batten walls, washable PVC cabinets and a custom polished aggregate pool house floor allow for easy cleaning and maintenance.  The Kalamazoo grill, Wolf range, Sub-zero refrigerator and microwave drawers facilitate exceptional outdoor cooking.  This project combines unique outdoor recreational features and natural materials to create the perfect at- home getaway.
